Connection issues.
Hi there,
As the headline 'might' imply; I'm having issues connecting from this computing machine and I hope that someone is able to give me advice on how mend this problem.
The problem can be portrayed with the following sentences:
I connect (with the updated IP).
I see that the download of terrain in the loading screen goes unusually slow.
I arrive at the world, but there are no blocks to be seen.
I fall, in an eternity into the vastness of cubic space.
I try to chatt but no reply is given, none from other players nor any text from me appear.
I try diffrent commands, like: /home (it isn't active at the moment, atleast to my knowledge) and /spawn.
I wait in roughly 5 minutes.
I grow tired...
I disconnect.
I write an slightly monotonous topic on a forum.
Edit: My text now appears after an half an hour, it is quite an latency problem... If it is one to begin with... But I have no issue with other servers nor is my connection in general slow (11Mb/s down, 1.14Mb/s up).
I hope it helps you to help me... Help us all.

Re: Connection issues.
You monster!...wait wrong game xD
There might be 2 problems.
First => your own Internet provider/connection is acting up a lot.
Second =>the server(not the game but the actual machine-server) may be having some issues with your country OR in general just problems. I havent been on the server since yesterday so i don't know if anyone else has the same problem or not.
Second.2 => I don't have problems just tryed connecting. But when i connected no one was online so I don't know any more details from just 1 => Server aint laggy or anything.
Third => Here's a companion cube to keep you company.
Solutions:
1. Try to restart your router
2. Try to re-install Minecraft
3. Try to hug the companion cube...it helps sometimes.
4. ???
5. Profit probably...
PS
Yes problem "Third" is ment as a joke and Solutions 3,4 and 5 are also ment as joke. Just trying to keep friendly

Re: Connection issues.
Thank you for the reply and yes, I have a sense of humor .
I read a bit more about this subject, if anyone on this forum or just someone that googled the symptom;
Here is an thread that regards the actual problem:
http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1013&t=34648
Now, back to the issue. I tried to logg on as my first edit on the initial post might hint and I appeared to be standing in my base, the only thing that was visable was roughly 15 blocks, the rest, was only... space... or RoomForMore...
Then after a short while I noticed my text from my initial atempt to play pop up, but that was 30-40 minutes late.
So after roughly 5 min and some door-klick'in I got this error:
internal exception java.net.socketexception software caused connection abort socket write error
Well, I hope it helps. I really do.

Re: Connection issues.
Hmm thats a pretty old thread and I didnt see any solution to your problem.
I'm in game now as I write this and I can't see you inside the server.
Heres a thing to try: open CMD(Start Menu => Run => cmd) and type "ping *server IP without PORT* and see if it returns any decent info. When you get the info paste it here. If Alth was online he could actually look up on the server console and see if actually you are connected or not. But just for safe keeping - try reinstalling Minecraft...usually java games have a cache stash in their folders(eg %appdata%/.minecraft/*cache folder*) so that at some point the java game uses part of it to run or function and your cache stash might be too full/big and MC cant handle it.
PS
Every actual game or program has a cache folder/file hidden somewhere but since Minecraft doesnt INSTALL and UNINSTALL the usualy way (eg Add/remove Programs[XP]//Programs and Settings[Vista/7]) the cache is defenetly in the .minecraft folder.

Re: Connection issues.
Just for clearification.
I deleted minecraft and all of the hidden files in the .minecraft map, so it was all cleared and fresh
But I will try to ping the server, the info will be here shortly.

Re: Connection issues.
Ping statistics for 46.253.203.241:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 60ms, Maximum = 62ms, Average = 60ms
This is how it looks for me. Comapring words and numbers means that you don't have any connection problems. So from this point on its all up to Alth to figure why or if you make a thread on the MC forums stating the same problem but with this info.

Re: Connection issues.
Hm... not sure what's wrong either :< It works fine for me and I'm even on right now (though no one else is >.> )
Hopefully this can be resolved soon.

Re: Connection issues.
I figured one thing out and that is that it isn't server related, so all of you that is managing the server, just relax this only my issue.
Right now I'm trying to dive into the pure masses of post mentioning this issue and so far no valuable fix or indication that notch will fix this have been found, hopefully it will be in the next update though, but in the meantime I will rummage through the majority of worthless posts for the prized diamond.
Of course, if I find it I will put it here.
